13. (10pts) Explain how a defective IP3 receptor in the ER would alter the response of a cell to a ligand that binds a G protein linked receptor. What would you expect you loaded the cells with this defect with INDO-1 dye, stimulated the cells with the ligand for the G protein linked receptor and then measured the emitance of light at 5 versus 390 nm while hitting the cells with UV light in a flow cytometer. How would this change if you performed the experiment with normal cells?
